Working on behalf of U.S. business to protect the current trade and to expand
and increase the potential for future business between the United States and Cuba.

March, 2006

Dear Colleague:

This is to serve as an invitation to you or your representative to attend the first Florida state-wide conference, “Doing Business in Cuba,” to be held on April 13 at the Citrus Club in Orlando, Florida.

This conference is being sponsored by the newly-formed Florida chapter of the U.S.-Cuba Trade Association and early co-sponsors include A.R. Savage & Son of Tampa, Gulfstream International Airlines of Miami, National Foreign Trade Council, USA*Engage, Alamar Associates, and Fund for Reconciliation and Development.

The US-Cuba Trade Association was formed in April 2005, and has 52 members from 24 different states. Its purpose is to facilitate legal trade between the US and Cuba, to educate companies on the potential for business in and with Cuba, and to support efforts to normalize trade between the US and Cuba.

Since more companies from Florida have visited Cuba than from any other state, the Florida members of the Association decided to form its own chapter to provide information and guidance to the Florida business community.

Its first activity is this conference in Orlando.

This day long event is not about politics; it is about business – what is happening, what can be done, what are the laws and regulations, and what the potential is or could be for your firm.

The special feature will be presentations via teleconference direct from Havana.

You will have the chance to ask questions directly to Cuban officials in Havana who will talk about the state of US trade now, bi-lateral relations between the US and Cuba, travel and tourism, and the new developments in the economy which impact business in and with Cuba.

The fee to attend is $175.Sponsorship opportunities are still open. As a sponsor, you will be recognized for your leadership role and may invite your associates and clients as your guests. As a sponsor, your name will appear on all press releases, signage, and conference documentation.

There are three levels:

  • Premier Sponsor - $5,000
o Ten tickets to the conference.
o Will automatically give you a one-year membership to the US-Cuba Trade Association and the Florida Chapter, which normally costs $1,500.
o Includes your company’s logo on all printed materials.
o Gives you sponsorship of the lunch, allowing your company to hang banners and distribute brochures.
o Allows your company to introduce a speaker.
o Grants first right of refusal for sponsoring next year’s conference.
  • Executive Sponsor - $2,500
o Five tickets to the conference.
o Includes your Association membership fee.
o Gives your company sponsorship of one segment of the conference.
  • Executive Sponsor - $1,000
o Two tickets to the conference.
o Sponsorship fee will be applied to your annual Association membership fee.

All sponsors will be invited to a private dinner with the conference speakers on Wednesday evening, April 12.

I hope you will be able to join us for this important event. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
